Sven Somair

Section Manager – Assessments / Corporate HSE Manager

Mr. Somair is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering and possesses his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Process Engineering attained through the University of The West Indies.

At Kaizen Environmental Services ( Trinidad) Limited he has a dual portfolio of both Section Manager – Assessments, which falls under the projects division as well as the Corporate HSE Manager.

In addition to his experience in the Health Safety and Environmental field, having held the positions of Safety Officer and HSE consultant, Mr. Somair has very extensive training in Environmental Impact Assessments, Site and Risk Assessments / Consequence Analysis and has developed, implemented and analyzed numerous Environmental Monitoring Programmes.

Rishi Pragg (Bsc.)

Measurements - Baseline Surveys, AQM, Noise

Mr. Pragg has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science from the University of the West Indies. Prior to joining the Kaizen team Mr. Pragg was employed at the State Oil Company, Petrotrin, as an HSE officer, and has greater than 3-years experience in the environmental field. At Kaizen, he has conducted numerous monitoring programs in the areas of air quality, effluent discharges, noise surveys, soil sampling and hydrogeologic surveys and water, sediment and benthic quality.

Mr. Pragg has also functioned as project team leader on the Union Estate remediation project, and is currently the Project Manager of the Measurements branch of Projects division, where he is responsible for management of all staff and works associated with Air Quality Monitoring, Stack Testing, Baseline Surveys and Noise Monitoring.

Brigitta Carriel

Laboratory Technician

Ms. Carriel holds an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences in Environmental Engineering (COSTAATT). She was successful at the NEBOSH programme and is due to begin the NEBOSH Specialist Diploma in Environmental Management. Her training extends to First Aid, CPR, Automated External Defribullation and Blood Bourne Pathogens. She has also done Water Quality Management at UWI and has extensive experience in industrial effluent sampling.

Ms. Carriel has previous experience in extensive water and soil analysis, including microbiology and toxicology.
